Constitution Week begins on Monday
By Henry Lamb
Monday, September 17, begins Constitution
Week. Every school and federal agency is required to do something to
recognize and celebrate September 17, the day the U.S. Constitution was
signed. Sadly, many schools will not meet this requirement. But
increasingly, school children are being introduced to the
U.S. Constitution through programs scheduled during Constitution Week,
and employees of federal agencies too, are being re-introduced to this
magnificent document.
The pocket-size Constitution we offer has now become the standard in the United States. This booklet uses the original spelling and capitalization used by the founders. It is indexed by article and by subject. It also contains the Declaration of Independence and quotes from George Washington, Samuel and John Adams, James Madison, and Benjamin Franklin. It is printed on bright bond paper with a glossy cover bearing a picture of George Washington. It is 3-1/4 inches by 6-1/2 inches, designed to fit nicely in a shirt or coat pocket.
This is the Constitution booklet chosen by the Arizona Department of Education, where 8,000 copies have been distributed to state employees. The Florida Bar has now ordered 45,000 copies to be used throughout the judicial system in the State of Florida. Schools and Universities across the nation have chosen this particular pocket Constitution because of its quality, authenticity, and convenience of use.
If you have not provided your school, or Sunday School class, or your community club with a copy of this wonderful Constitution booklet, now, during Constitution Week, would be a good time to do so. Order your supply today.
