What Can I Do?

These letters have one thing in common - a sense of helplessness. "My Congressmen won't listen," is a familiar complaint. "They only gave me two minutes to speak at the county commission meeting," is also a common complaint. And they all ask - What can I do?
Some individuals are able to organize their community and hold educational meetings in their neighborhood. Others can write letters to the editor, and articles for the newspaper. Others can go to Washington, or to thier state capitols, and speak directly to their legislators. But most people cannot do these things. They have families to raise and jobs to hold down. Still, we all need to do whatever we can.
One thing that everyone can do is - write a check - to help others do the things that are required to defend and advance the principles of freedom at every level of government. That's what the Environmental Conservation Organization does.
Every day, we publish the Eco-logic Powerhouse online. This publication gives you the information you need to know to keep up with your government. It tells you what others are doing in their communities to defend and advance the principles of freedom. Every day, we review hundreds of newspapers across the country to collect articles that report on issues in which we are involved.
Our website contains archives that go back more than a decade, to provide contemporaneously-written reports of events that got us to the place we are today. This material is essential to researchers and for documentation. In addition, there are extensive research documents and special reports that provide the proof and documentation needed when talking to government officials, and to your neighbors.
We also publish a monthly magazine by the same title - Eco-logic Powerhouse. This magazine is heralded as one of the finest publications available to address the issues that are eroding our freedom. Recent issues provide in-depth coverage of issues such as the North American Union, the National Animal Identificcation System, illegal immigration, The Nature Conservancy, and many more topics.
We also helped to create, and now coordinate the Freedom21 Campaign, that features an annual national convention. This year, we will hold our 8th annual National Freedom21 Conference in Dallas, Texas, and focus on the North American Union and the Trans-Texas Corridor. This annual conference, that is held in different cities across the nation, is one of the most powerful, most helpful conferences available.
Last year, we created the LIberty Ark Coalition to oppose the National Animal Identification System. This coalition now has state coordinators in more than half the states, nearly 1600 individual members and 89 organizastions. It has helped to force the USDA to provide an "OPT OUT" procedure for people whose premises have been registered in the program. It developed model legislation that has helped six states to introduce legislation to prohibit mandatory NAIS by the state or federal government.
For the last year, we have been working to develop legislation that will redefine and limit U.S. Biosphere Reserves to land that is owned by the government. Many of the existing 47 U.N. Biosphere Reserves will not conform to the new limitations, and therefore, should be delisted by the U.N. The election of a Democrat majority in Congress will require that this effort be intensified, and we need your help to make this happen.
We are deeply involved with other organizations and individuals in documenting the evolution of NAFTA, CAFTA, the FTAA, and the Security and Prosperity Partnership into the North American Union. Official Washington continues to deny that there is an effort to creat a North American Union, but we have discovered the documents, such as article 511 of NAFTA, that requires participating nations to conform their laws and regulations to the regulations adopted by the appointed NAFTA bureaucrats.
We are working for you every day of every week, and we could not do it without your support. We get no funding from large corporations or foundations. We certainly do not get funding from government. We are supported entirely by membership, contributions, and from the sale of books, and other merchandise from our website. The vast majority of our budget comes from your gifts.
To recognize and honor the people who make our work possible, we have created a "Donors' Honor Roll" for members who contribute as much as $10 monthly, or $100 per year. Unless these folks tell us not to, we are posting their name and their state on our online "Donors'Honor Roll", and in our magazine.
We are launching this "Donors' Honor Roll" for the first time with this article. Please visit this special Donors' Honor Roll contribution form and contribute whatever you can. We are a long way from reaching our 2007 budget requirement. Monthly contributions, even if it is only $10, will be extremely helpful. Of course, those who can contribute more will help make sure we are able to continue our ambitious programs.
All of us should do whatever we can to defend and advance the principles of freedom, for ourselves, and for our children and grandchildren. Almost everyone can make a contribution of some amount. We hope you will do what you can.
If you are on a small fixed income, or have large medical expenses, please do not feel obligated to participate. This appeal is intended for people who can afford to make small or large regular contributions.
